Sirius Satellite Radio has announced the debut of its first wearable satellite radio, the Sirius S50. The S50 is not only a receiver, but allows users to capture and store up to 50 hours of content for mobile listening of both Sirius programming and MP3/WMA files. It is scheduled to hit stores in October. 

The SIRIUS S50 has a sleek design, measuring 1.9 by 3.9 inches and is only 0.7 inches thick. It also has a full color display and voice-assisted channel navigation, and must be attached to a home dock, car dock, or executive docking station in order to access the Sirius channel line-up.

Other S50 features include the "My Sirius Channels" feature, which automatically gathers and refreshes sets of programming from the user's three most-listened-to channels.  There is also the "My Sirius Songs" feature, which allows storage of favorite songs or talk shows, the "Scheduled Record" feature, which sets the radio to record favorite shows on either a one time or recurring basis, and the "My Playlists" feature, allowing users to store their own MP3/WMA library.

Also included in home and car kits for the S50 will be the Sirius Media Dial, which allows listeners to turn the knob to find their favorite channel, or they can tilt it to pause, rewind, fast-forward, or save a favorite song or show. The voice-assisted navigation tells the user what channel they've selected, so they don't need to be distracted looking at the screen. The radio also has presets for 30 channels, a jump button for one-touch tuning to traffic and weather reports or to a favorite channel, a sports ticker, and a "Game Alert" feature which prompts when the user's favorite NFL, NHL, NBA, or other sports teams are playing on Sirius.

The SIRIUS S50 carries a suggested retail price of $359.99, and includes wearable accessories and a car dock, which includes an adhesive mount, a cigarette lighter power adapter, a remote control, an ultra-low profile antenna, DC input and line output.  A home dock  will be available for a suggested retail price of $99.99.  A desk or wall mountable executive system, including high fidelity speakers, will also be available.
