U2 has revealed the full list of opening acts for the fall North American leg of their Vertigo tour. Ubiquitous Rapper Kanye West, Indie Rock darlings the Arcade Fire, Damien Marley and the great Patti Smith will all open for U2, along with the already-announced Dashboard Confessional and Keane. Marley will open 15 dates, beginning in Philadelphia on October 16. Smith will open a pair of shows at Madison Square Garden in late November, and Arcade Fire will be on board for three shows in their home country of Canada at the end of November. West, who will be on his first-ever headlining tour, will open the final four U2 shows of 2005 in mid-December.U2 just wrapped up a four-night stand in Toronto, which featured super-producer Daniel Lanois making an appearance to play guitar on "One," the first performance in years of "Discotheque" and a cameo from Eddie Vedder dueting with Bono on the old chestnut "Old Man River." Pearl Jam is currently touring Canada.
Finally, U2//Vertigo//2005 Live From Chicago will be released on DVD on November 15, according to Billboard.
