Nine Inch Nails seemed to have solved their ongoing drummer troubles, bringing Alex Carapetis on-board as the band's new touring drummer. NIN mastermind Trent Reznor confirmed the news on NIN.com over the weekend, after Carapetis made his debut at the band's Friday night concert in Chicago. MTV.com reports that Carapetis has a varied resume, having performed with everyone from Lenny Kravitz to Nikka Costa to a handful of Australian Pop acts.Reznor writes online, "Alex is doing great and fitting in well. Josh Freese helped us out by playing the Salt Lake City and Denver shows as a substitute, while Alex Carapetis took over in Chicago. I can't begin to tell you what a difficult job it is to replace your drummer in this band, and these guys have truly risen to the high-pressure situation that it is."
The band teased fans over the weekend by posting a picture of them alongside Meg White of The White Stripes, before adding a new one of the lineup with Carapetis.
Regular NIN drummer Jerome Dillon had to leave the tour after being diagnosed with an unspecified heart condition. Nine Inch Nails continue their tour with Queens Of The Stone Age and Autolux tomorrow night in St. Paul, MN.
