| Roadrunner Caps Anniversary With All-Star Concert |
 |
October 14, 2005
Rob Flynn, Matt Heafy, Joey Jordison and Dino Cazares
| On December 15, Roadrunner Records will hold an all-star concert at the Nokia Theater in New York to cap off the label's 25th anniversary celebration. The Metal extravaganza will feature a "house band" consisting of Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison, Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser, ex-Fear Factory axeman Dino Cazares and Machine Head bassist Adam Duce. Special guests, including past and present Roadrunner artists and other Metal icons, will join the band on stage to play 20 classic Roadrunner tunes along with a few tracks from Roadrunner United, The All-Star Sessions.
The All-Star Sessions is a new collaborative CD released this week that finds artists from every generation of Roadrunner teaming up for 18 original songs. The songs were written by Jordison, Cazares, Trivium's Matt Heafy and Machine Head's Rob Flynn, and a different vocalist appears on each track. The CD features singers like Howard Jones of Killswitch Engage, Keith Caputo of Life Of Agony, Peter Steele of Type O Negative, Christian Machado of Ill Nino and Corey Taylor of Slipknot as well as musical contributions from members of Soulfly, Chimaira, Coal Chamber and Cradle Of Filth. In all, 55 different artists appear on the CD.
Tickets for Roadrunner's 25th anniversary concert will be available in the coming weeks.
