 Bon Jovi
| The members of Bon Jovi are all safe and well after their private plane skidded off the runway in Ontario, Canada over the weekend. The band's Web site says that their Boeing 707 overshot the runway at Hamilton International Airport and skidded into the mud after landing in severe weather and slick conditions. Bon Jovi had flown in from Buffalo, New York, where they played on Friday night, in order to play a series of shows in Toronto. No concerts were canceled after the incident in light of the fact that the band and the crew were all unharmed.
Bad news Outkast fans. Though the Hip-Hop duo's manager just told MTV.com last week that their long-awaited movie Idlewild would be in theaters on March 10, a new report in Variety says that Universal has pushed it back yet again, to an undetermined release date. As for the soundtrack album, it was expected out on February 14, but that too could change again.
Rock & Roll couple Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age and Brody Dalle of The Distillers have given birth to a Rock & Roll baby. The couple's first child, daughter Camille Homme, was born on January 17 in Los Angeles. Both mother and baby are doing very well. According to a press release, "Camille's interests include boobs, sleeping, and pooping. Camille's dislikes include smoking, men who are afraid to cry and dirty diapies."When the surviving members of Alice In Chains reunite in March for a special VH1 Classic concert event in Atlantic City, singer William DuVall of L.A. band Comes With The Fall will sing with AIC. Comes With The Fall have known AIC guitarist Jerry Cantrell for years, as they were his opening act and backing band on his 2001 and 2002 tours. Heart and Dave Navarro will also perform at the VH1 concert on March 10, which will air on the cable channel sometime in the spring.
Madonna's next road trip is starting to take shape. According to Billboard.com, Arthur Fogel has nailed down the promotion rights for the outing. Fogel is president of TNA International, Live Nation's global touring division. He also produced Madonna's Re-Invention tour in 2004 and Drowned World tour in 2002. Meanwhile, Madonna is nominated for three Brit Awards in the categories of best International Female Solo Artist, International Album and Pop Act. She will be on hand as a presenter at the February 15 awards show. Weezer drummer Pat Wilson has revealed that he and guitarist Brian Bell will be playing Velvet Underground members John Cale and Lou Reed in the upcoming film Factory Girl, about Andy Warhol's scene in the 1960s. In his blog, Wilson adds that ex-Hole drummer Samatha Maloney is also in the film, likely playing VU drummer Moe Tucker. The real Lou Reed recently spoke out against the film in the New York Daily News, calling the script "one of the most disgusting, foul things I've seen."
 Nickelback
|
Nickelback has been added to the pregame festivities of Super Bowl XL in Detroit, which CBS will air live on February 5. The Canadian rockers also will play on February 2 in Motown as part of the Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Concert Series, along with Kanye West, Train and the Goo Goo Dolls. That performance will be taped for a VH1 show. Lastly, Nickelback has added more dates to their North American tour, which now is scheduled through March 30 in Manchester, NH. System Of A Down guitarist/singer Daron Malakian will begin work on his own side project, Scars On Broadway, once the band is finished touring behind last year's Mezmerize and Hypnotize. Malakian tells Rolling Stone the band will shoot a video for "Lonely Day" and spend the summer touring before he has time to devote to new music. "We all want to take a little bit of a break," he says. "But I don't want to sit around, so I'm going to make an album." Joel Madden of Good Charlotte tells MTV.com that he will be acting in the upcoming film Valley Of The Damned, which he hopes will become "what Trainspotting was to the '90s, we see Valley Of The Damned being to this decade." The film will be helmed by Marvin Scott Jarrett, who also directed GC's new documentary, Fast Future Generation. Rilo Kiley frontwoman Jenny Lewis will launch a solo tour on March 4 in San Francisco, in support of her new album Rabbit Fur Coat. The tour wraps around North America before winding up in Los Angeles on April 1.
