Citadel Gives Harrisburg "Cool Pop"
February 19, 2004

Mainstream CHR returns to Harrisburg, as Citadel launches the new WCPP, "Cool Pop 106.7, The Pop Music Channel." Following days of stunting, the new format was launched at a downtown club. Will Robinson will serve as the station's PD. Robinson, also recently named PD of new Country sister station WCAT ("Red 102.3"), said: "I'm extremely excited to be part of such an innovative format, and I'm further excited to debut this brand in the Capitol Region." WCAT, which previously resided on the 106.7 frequency, replaced '80s WRKZ at 102.3.

Concurrently, Claudine DeLorenzo, who has served as PD of WRKZ and sister Rocker WQXA since 1998,  has been named Director of Programming for Citadel-Harrisburg. "We have spent a lot of time observing the market and fine tuning Cool Pop as a radio station that will be a staple in the Capitol Region's daily routine, and bring a new level of excitement to 106.7," DeLorenzo said. The former Cat Country 106.7 morning team of Michelle Cruz and Dennis Mitchell, a.k.a. "Michelle and Mitchell,"  remain with the frequency to host mornings on Cool Pop 106.7.

Here's Cool Pop 106.7's first hour of music:

Outkast "Hey Ya"
No Doubt "Underneath It All"
Barenaked Ladies "One Week"
Baby Bash "Suga Suga"

Jason Mraz "The Remedy"
Fuel "Falls On Me"

Prince "Lets Go Crazy"
Clay Aiken "Invisible"
Christina Aguilera "Beautiful"
Dido "White Flag"

Dave Matthews Band "What Would You Say"
Five For Fighting "100 Years"
Kelly Clarkson "Miss Independent"
Train "When I Look To The Sky"
Santana/Michelle Branch "Game Of Love"
Destiny's Child "Jumpin' Jumpin'"
