Alpha Broadcasting has flipped longtime Rocker KUFO/Portland to a FM simulcast of News/Talk KXL-AM. KUFO.com currently says "RIP 101KUFO 12/29/89 - 3/15/11," with a note that reads reads: "We just wanted to take a moment to thank you, our devoted KUFO listeners, for 21 rockin' years. You have listened and supported KUFO through 14 Rockfests a variety of DJ's, a couple of owners and countless events, large and small. We have appreciated your input over the years and continue to do so today. Feel free to email us here or leave your thoughts on our 24 hour comment line at 503-517-5950. THANK YOU!!" The page then redirects to KXL's site.
KXL-AM's lineup remains in tact, with Glenn Beck heard mornings from 9a-noon.
"Today begins a new chapter in Portland radio as we bring the news and information heard on KXL to the FM dial at 101.1," stated Bob Proffitt, Alpha Broadcasting President/COO. "The future of news is on FM and we are excited to be the first to make the move."
