Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has sent a letter to a pair of Australian miners who were trapped in a mine after they revealed they listened to the Foos on iPods given to them while they were underground. The pair were trapped for almost two weeks, and Grohl wrote to them yesterday, saying, "My heart is with you both. There's two tickets to any Foo's show, anywhere, and two cold beers waiting for you."Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo will graduate from Harvard University next month, almost 10 years after he began taking classes at the prestigious New England school. In an extensive interview with Boston.com, Cuomo says, "Graduation is huge for me. I'm really excited about doing the smart and responsible thing." Later in June, Cuomo will marry his fiancee Kyoko Ito.
Pharrell and guest star Kanye West have shot a video for Pharrell's next single, "Number 1," from his long-awaited album In My Mind. The song was produced by Pharrell under his "Skateboard P" alter-ego, while Kanye chipped in with guest raps, according to MTV.com. The album was originally supposed to come out in February, but now Pharrell has recorded some new songs and is eyeing a July release date.
DMX has set August 1 as the release date for Year of the Dog, Again. The Rapper worked with Swizz Beatz to produce some of the tracks, as well as producer Dame Grease, according to Billboard.
The first in a series of benefit concerts to be held for Love frontman Arthur Lee will happen at New York's Beacon Theater on June 23. The singer is battling leukemia. The New York concert will be led by Robert Plant, along with the Ian Hunter Band, David Johansen (New York Dolls), Yo La Tengo, Love guitarist Johnny Echols, Garland Jeffreys and Alec Ounsworth of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.

David Bowie will oversee the brand-new High Line Festival in New York City in May 2007. In addition to choosing the artists who will play the event, Billboard reports that Bowie will headline an outdoor show, his first performance in the city since 2003.
Punk Rock supergroup Osaka Popstar is teaming with Topps trading cards for limited edition "Wacky Packages" stickers which will be packaged with specially marked copies of the band's debut album. Additionally, a new, unreleased Misfits vinyl 45 will be available for fans who redeem proof-of-purchases from various Misfits Records releases. Their album, Osaka Popstar And The American Legends Of Punk, will arrive in stores on May 23, with a bonus DVD of animated music videos.
Duran Duran has been tapped to co-headline New Orleans' annual Voodoo Music Experience, which will be held on October 28 and 29. The group will co-headline with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Duran Duran is currently working on its second album since reuniting the five original members.
Grant-Lee Phillips will release an album of cover songs entitled nineteeneighties on June 27. The track listing consists of some of Phillips' favorite songs from the 1980s, including R.E.M.'s "So. Central Rain (I'm Sorry)," The Pixies' "Wave Of Mutilation" and "Love My Way" from The Psychedelic Furs.
