Garett Michaels Exits As KBZT/San Diego PD
June 14, 2012

After close to a decade at the helm of Modern Rock KBZT (FM 94/9)/San Diego, Garett Michaels exits as PD. Michaels told FMQB, "My departure from FM 94/9 is bittersweet. Although the last 3 years have been particularly challenging, I’m incredibly proud of the brand we created and the legacy we built over the last 10 years ago."

He added, "I’d like to especially thank Don Benson, John Dimick, Clarke Brown and Darrel Goodin for their mentorship and the initial opportunity to come to San Diego.  Additionally, I want to thank and acknowledge Fred Jacobs, Paul Jacobs, Dave Beasing, Tim Davis, Keith Cunningham and Chris Ackerman for being the best collaborators in the business."

"Finally, a special thank you to all current and former staff members of FM 94/9, you should be proud of the radio station that you helped to create.  It has been an honor to work with you; I’ve never experienced a more passionate group of people."

Michaels is seeking his next opportunity and can be reached at garettsd@gmail.com or (619) 993-4121.
