Clear Channel Media and Entertainment announces that 17 Federated Media radio stations are now available on iHeartRadio. Federated Media services the Northern Indiana Fort Wayne, South Bend, Elkhart-Goshen and Warsaw markets. Under the agreement, Federated Media’s radio stations are now available on the iHeartRadio platform wherever it is offered including web, mobile devices and automobiles. In addition, Federated Media will support and promote iHeartRadio on its stations and websites. "We’re very excited to partner with iHeartRadio," said James Derby, Chief Strategy Officer for Federated Media. "We want to offer our customers and clients both terrestrial and digital listening experiences. It’s important that we partner with those that are open to shared content and opportunities. iHeartRadio is very popular in our local markets and we’re happy to now be a part of it." Additionally, the syndicated Dave Ramsey Show has also been added to iHeartRadio.

Internet radio aggregator TuneIn announces that it raised $16 million in a round of funding, led by General Catalyst Partners, with participation from Jafco Ventures, Google Ventures and existing business partner Sequoia Capital. TuneIn will use the new funding to scale the company's technical and business operations worldwide. TuneIn also announces that it has passed 40 million monthly active listeners.
David Renzer, former Universal Music Publishing Group Chairman/CEO, is named President of Music Ventures for the Saban Capital Group, reports Billboard.biz. Saban hopes to re-enter the music publishing business after selling off its publishing portfolio in 2010.
Lexus announces that its 2013 LS flagship models will come standard with HD Radio Technology and iTunes tagging. The 2013 LS will join the Lexus family, including the ES, GS, RX, and LX which already offer HD Radio Technology.
Rep. Hansen Clarke (D-MI) has sent a letter to Reps. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) and Laura Richardson (D-CA) requesting the House Subcommittee on Emergency Preparedness, Response and Communications hold a hearing on the broadcast spectrum incentive auction process and the activation and use of broadcast radio chips in cell phones. Clarke writes that he believes the use of FM chips in mobile phones will aid in emergency communication and response.
WRKO/Boston announces Rush Limbaugh will return to WRKO after a two and a half year absence, effective August 21. The Rush Limbaugh Show will be heard in the 12 to 3 p.m. time slot. WRKO also announced that Michele McPhee, who rejoined WRKO in June, will team up with Todd Feinburg in mornings.
