Republic Records remains a leader at the Modern Rock and Active Rock formats, as the label has scored its fifth #1 of 2012 with a new artist at the format. This week, Alex Claire's platinum-selling anthem "Too Close" hit #1 at the Modern Rock format. Previously, the label has seen the same accomplishment from Gotye's multi-platinum smash "Somebody That I Used To Know", Of Monsters And Men's "Little Talks" and both Volbeat’s "A Warrior’s Call" and "Still Counting." CEO/President Monte Lipman comments, "Each of these artists crafted phenomenal songs that demand the world's attention. It's because of the strength of their vision and the tracks themselves that so many people are paying attention. There's nothing more exciting than watching new talent grow and be received so warmly. It also provides the foundation for wonderful careers." Republic Records EVP of Promotion and Artist Development Joel Klaiman adds, "Alternative and Active Rock Radio have been such a great partners to us and we appreciate all the support. We couldn’t be happier for these four acts. I also have to congratulate Dennis Blair, Vice President of Alternative and Active Rock Formats and my staff on a job well done!"
