Arbitron has announced that Debra Delman will be appointed EVP of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for the ratings giant, effective August 28. Delman will report directly to Arbitron President/CEO William T. Kerr. Delman will succeed Sean Creamer, who has served as interim CFO since May.
"Debra is a talented and capable senior financial executive with extensive experience in the radio, media and entertainment industries. She understands our business and our customers well, and will be a valuable addition to the Arbitron executive staff," said Kerr.
Since 2009, Delman has been SVP of Strategic Operations and Finance for National Public Radio, and was recently appointed Chief Strategy Officer.
From 2005 to 2009, Delman was SVP/CFO for Discovery Networks International, a unit of DiscoveryCommunications Inc From 2001 to 2004, she worked as Corporate VP of Finance at Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc.
Delman also served as SVP/CFO for Emmis International, as SVP/CFO, Manager Media International, Bangkok, Thailand and as an Investment Analyst at Daiwa Securities of America. She worked early in her career at ChemicalBank and W.R. Grace and Co.
Delman received an M.B.A. from Pace University, Lubin Graduate School of Business; and a B.S. in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Hartford. She will be based in Columbia, MD.
