This morning was Mark Thompson's final show at Classic Rock KLOS/Los Angeles, where he has spent 25 years as part of the Mark and Brian Morning Show. Thompson announced his retirement in June, but his longtime co-host Brian Phelps revealed this morning that he is stepping down as well. Dan Binder will exit as PD of Modern Rock WRMR/Wilmington, NC and Digital Operations Specialist for Sunrise Broadcasting's Wilmington cluster, due to restructuring. Binder's last day will be August 31. He can be reached at dbinder@ec.rr.com or 910-399-7120. Binder plans to stay in the Wilmington-Jacksonville-Raleigh area and is looking for any opportunities that can be done remotely from that location. He will also continue to syndicate The Source - The Original Classic Alternative to stations needing original content.

According to documents filed with the FCC, Clear Channel will pay $30 million to Buckley Broadcasting/WOR, LLC for Talk WOR-AM/New York. The deal was announced Monday but with no price tag attached.
Emmis Communications will sell off two magazines in its portfolio. The company has struck a $9 million deal with an as-yet-unidentified buyer to purchase Country Sampler and Smart Retailer. Emmis also has a $110 million deal bending to sell Spanish CHR KXOS/Los Angeles to Groupo Radio Centro.
