Taylor Swift
MTV premiered the video for Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" on Thursday night, after which the songwriter stuck around to chat about it with MTV News' Sway Calloway. One of the most unique aspects about the video is that it was shot in one continuous take, which required lots of furiously fast costume changes by Swift. "All modesty had to go out the window," Swift said about throwing off shirts and dresses during the shoot. "All my clothes were put together with Velcro and snaps so that I could have three different outfits layered on top of each other. The costume changes were really hectic. [We did them] in real time; it was crazy. At one point, I had a breaking point. 'I can't do five costume changes, there's not enough time!' but we ended up being able to do it." You can check out the clip and its wardrobe changes on VEVO here.

Matchbox Twenty has announced a jam-packed schedule celebrating next week's release of their new album, North. The days ahead will see Matchbox Twenty making a variety of TV appearances, beginning with a headline installment of the "Toyota Concert Series" on NBC's Today, set to air live from New York's Rockefeller Plaza on Monday, September 3. Then the band will hit the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theatre for a September 5 appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. That will be followed by an acoustic performance on VH1's Big Morning Buzz on September 6, and frontman Rob Thomas will be among the guests on the September 7 edition of CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight. Thomas will also be seen this fall as a mentor on the third season of The Voice. He will join Cee Lo Green's team, working with contestants and giving them tips before their performances.

Target is partnering with No Doubt to offer a deluxe exclusive edition of the band's new album, Push And Shove. Target's deluxe edition offers No Doubt fans an extra eight-track CD, including five exclusive tracks, which are: a cover of Adam and the Ants' 1981 single "Stand and Deliver;" two acoustic tracks, "Looking Hot Acoustic – Santa Monica Sessions" and "Easy Acoustic – Santa Monica Sessions;" and two remixed tracks, "One More Summer (Jonas Quant Remix)" and "Push And Shove (Anthony Gorry Remix)." The album drops on September 25, the same day the band will perform on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Hoardes of artists have taken to Twitter to comment on the death of Hip-Hop manager Chris Lighty. "U taught me 2 B Fearless," wrote Missy Elliott. "U help build So many Artist Careers! This is such a sad time 4 all the lives u touched." Reverend Run added: "R I P to the kindest guy Chris Lighty. Thank you for being a manager to Diggy & a part of our family.. You are loved & will be missed." Nick Cannon commented, "I'm devastated right now. I can't believe my big brother Chris Lighty is gone... He was a pioneer, a mentor, and a great friend." Rapper Fat Joe said, "I Would Be Nothing Without YOU!!! My Kids Appreciate YOU God Bless Chris Lighty." Many other artists also offered kind words, including Diddy, who said he is "in shock... He Was A Dear Friend Of Mine And I Still Can't Believe It."

TMZ is reporting that American Idol judge Randy Jackson will definitely exit the judge's table this season, and instead serve as a mentor on the show. Jackson was expected to remain with the show that's been home to him for more than a decade, partly because he co-manages new judge Mariah Carey. Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter says that Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban have yet to sign their Idol deals but are both expected to become new judges early next week.

Prince has announced a residency in Chicago at the United Center. His Welcome 2 Chicago run of shows will begin on September 24, and it will be used to support Rebuild the Dream, an organization that seeks to "build strong vibrant communities and to fix our economy from the ground up." Tickets for the September 24 show will go on sale September 6, and additional dates will be announced shortly.

will.i.am
Will.i.am and singer Cheryl Cole were in a minor car crash in Los Angeles and both suffered only minor injuries. The crash occurred after they left a studio following a long day of recording, and it was Will.i.am who was behind the wheel of the Cadillac that drove into a parked car. After police were called to the scene, the Black Eyed Peas rapper was taken to Cedars Sinai hospital where he emerged later wearing a neck brace. Will tweeted: "Car accidents are not dope. I am glad I am ok. Cheryl Cole (and I) were coming back from the studio but she and I are fine... just a little whiplash."

The Deftones have announced the release of their seventh studio album, Koi No Yokan, due on November 13. Recording took place in Los Angeles with producer Nick Raskulinecz. Additionally, the band has rolled out a new string of North American tour dates in support of the album. The trek runs from October 9 in Ventura, CA to October 30 in New York.

B.o.B has unleashed Strange Clouds: The Game for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Strange Clouds: The Game takes users on a journey with the rapper as he travels through space, learning the secrets of a new alien race. Players earn fuel for their rocket ship while slicing shapes out of strange clouds. The faster and more accurate the shapes are carved, the more fuel is earned.

While fans are enjoying the Afghan Whigs reunion, mainman Greg Dulli says he has no idea whether the reunited band will keep going after their current U.S. tour wraps in November. "The group is a going concern as it's going," Dulli tells Billboard. "I am being utterly honest when I tell you we haven't really talked about anything other than what we're doing right now. It's kind of cool that it's happened that way because it's very much in the moment, and appreciating the moment is something that sometimes gets lost in everyday life. Everything that's happening now is happening in its own inimitable, organic way. So right now I'm surfing this wave. If the way continues on I'll know it, and if it's time to hop off the wave, I'll know that, too. But I don't know the answer yet." He added that the band has "recorded a couple more things. We'll see if they pop out at an appropriate time."
