Quick Hits: album sales, Wiz Khalifa, No Doubt, R. Kelly, One Direction, Backstreet Boys, Weezer
September 5, 2012

Christian artist TobyMac scored his first #1 album this week with Eye On It, as the record bows with 69,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. TobyMac managed to beat out hip-hop super group Slaughterhouse, who opens at #2 with Welcome to Our House, selling 52,000 units. Last week's #1 album, Trey Songz' Chapter V, falls to #3 this week with 41,000, and the Now 43 compilation slips to #4 with just under 41,000 sold. Meanwhile, Alanis Morissette celebrates her sixth Top 10 album as  her latest work, Havoc and Bright Lights, enters the chart at #5 by shifting 33,000 copies.

Wiz Khalifa has announced details of his upcoming 2050 Tour, which kicks off on October 12 in State Park, PA and runs through the middle of December. The 2050 Tour will see the Pittsburgh rapper taking his stage show to venues throughout North America alongside Taylor Gang members Juicy J, Chevy Woods, Lola Monroe, Tuki Carter and Berner. Tickets for the 36-city tour go on sale this Friday, September 7, via Wiz’s official website, www.wizkhalifa.com. Additional dates will be announced next week.

No Doubt
No Doubt has announced a six-night stand in Los Angeles this fall, playing the Gibson Amphitheatre in late November and early December in support of their upcoming album Push And Shove. The band will play 11/24, 11/26, 11/28, 11/30, 12/2 and 12/4. No Doubt will perform tonight on NBC as part of the NFL season kickoff, along with Mariah Carey.

After R. Kelly pulled out of his Love Letter Cruise, claiming that the organizer failed to pay him to appear, the singer has now scheduled the Single Ladies Tour. The trek kicks off on October 13 in Columbia, SC and will hit theaters until December 7 in Merrillville, IN.

Earlier this year, an American act named One Direction sued the UK boy band over the name, but now the U.S. group has announced it is changing its name. Billboard reports the California band is now Uncharted Shores, as both sides have settled the legal dispute.

Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson have announced details for this year's Backstreet Boys cruise. Departing from Miami on October 25, the three-night cruise will celebrate the 20th Anniversary and reunion of the boy band. The event will boast live music, a private beach party, games, Q&A sessions, contests and more. "Having Kevin onboard for the first time has already made this our best cruise yet!" says Littrell. "We're back together again to party on the high seas." Carter adds, "This year's cruise is going to show our fans how special they are to us and how thankful we are for 20 years of support."

Fans may soon get to spend their summers with Weezer, as the band is mulling the idea of starting their own summer camp. Weezer is set to tour Australia in January, and frontman Rivers Cuomo told Australia's Herald Sun: "We'd like to put together some sort of Weezer camp, but we're just beginning to talk about it, so I don't have any details yet." Then asked if this would like a conventional summer camp, Cuomo replied by saying: "Yeah." He also said the band has not begun work on any new songs, but he would like to schedule a tour to play 2008's The Red Album in its entirety.
