Salaam Remi Named EVP Of A&R and Production For Sony Music

Salaam Remi has been named EVP of A&R and Production for Sony Music Entertainment. The announcement was made today by Sony Music CEO Doug Morris. In this role, Remi will be responsible for working with the A&R teams across Sony Music’s labels to drive artist development. In addition to his A&R responsibilities, Remi will have an imprint label with Sony Music and serve as an exclusive producer and executive producer on SME releases. He is based in New York and reports directly to Morris.

Morris stated, "Salaam is a fantastic talent who understands great artistry. We couldn’t be happier to have him joining the executive team here at Sony Music and we look forward to having him contribute to our ongoing creative success around the world." 

Remi added, "It is a career highlight to work with Doug Morris, the greatest record executive in the world. I’m excited for the opportunity to support our various creative teams at Sony Music in the continued development of great artists making outstanding music."

A Grammy-nominated producer and songwriter, Remi has worked with Amy Winehouse, Nas, The Fugees, Jazmine Sullivan, Nelly Furtado, Cee-Lo Green and Usher, among others. His most recent credits include Alicia Keys’s Girl On Fire and Miguel’s Kaleidoscope Dream. He has also worked on a variety of film projects including Blood Diamond, Gnomeo and Juliet and Tower Heist. He scored the film Sparkle starring Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks, the Mike Tyson documentary, TYSON, and worked as Executive Music Producer on the films Sex and the City and its sequel, and Rush Hour 3.
