Quick Hits: Paramore, Rolling Stones, Rihanna, 12/12/12 Benefit Concert, Owl City
December 6, 2012

Paramore will release their fourth studio album on April 9. The band, now down to a trio, has self-titled the record. The lead single is called "Now." In a statement on their website, they said, "The whole making of this album was a rediscovering of ourselves as a band and as friends. It was a process that allowed us the freedom to explore new territory artistically and to liberate ourselves as musicians, singers, as people! Sincerely, we feel that the best way to give it a name is just to call it what it is. This album is us."

Yahoo! Music will host the exclusive pay-per-view live stream of the Rolling Stones' 50th Anniversary concert from The Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on December 15 at 9 p.m. EST. Rolling Stones fans also can visit Yahoo! Music for footage of past Stones concerts, band interviews and backstage access. Beginning at 8:30 p.m. EST on December 15, fans can watch an exclusive special entitled Countdown to the Rolling Stones, featuring pre-show activities and a countdown of the 10 greatest Rolling Stones moments of all-time.

Rihanna will executive produce and star in a new fashion competition series for the Style Network called Styled to Rock. The hour-long, 10-episode series, which will premiere next year, will feature 12 rising fashion designers picked and mentored by Rihanna to style other celebrities. "Fashion has always played an integral part in my life and career," the singer said in a statement. "I am so excited to partner with Style Network and share my creative insight with these 12 designers and give them this opportunity to showcase their work."

In an effort to share the 12-12-12 benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy Relief with many people impacted by the storm, the event will be simulcast live in select movie theaters in hurricane-affected areas. This presentation will be free of charge to all attendees and complimentary refreshments will be provided. Free tickets are available now at participating theater box offices, and will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Event producers James Dolan, John Sykes and Harvey Weinstein said in a joint statement: "The live simulcast of this historic benefit concert in movie theatres will provide a welcome opportunity for those people still recovering from the devastation to have an enjoyable and much-needed night out. Seeing this incredible all-star lineup on the big screen and hearing it in surround sound will certainly make for a memorable evening." The concert, held at Madison Square Garden to benefit the Robin Hood Relief Fund, will feature Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Chris Martin, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West, The Who and Paul McCartney, with other artists to be announced.

Although Owl City's fourth album, The Midsummer Station, just came out in August, main man Adam Young says he's already crafting new sounds for his next album. "I'm always in the back of the tour bus with my laptop and my headphones like, 'Don't talk to me. I'm busy,' working on something new on my laptop," Young told Billboard at the 2012 Jingle Ball in Los Angeles on Monday. As for the new material, Young said it's "a little bit more edgy in a good way. It sort of hits a little bit harder. I'm really inspired by dance music, so there's lots of trance-inspired music. I listen to a lot of trance DJs from Europe."
