Yesterday, it was reported that Lady Gaga was postponing three dates of her Born This Way Ball tour, as the Pop star had been trying to work through an injury. However, last night Live Nation released an announcement that Gaga's injury was worse than expected and the remainder of the tour is being canceled.
Gaga had originally tweeted, "I've been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened. I've been praying it would heal." The injury was originally thought to have is synovitis, which is a severe inflammation of the joints. Following additional tests on Wednesday to review the severity of the issue, it was determined that Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. According to the announcement, "She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal."
Refunds for canceled performances are available from the point of purchase, starting today. The Born This Way Ball had been slated to run up to March 20 in Tulsa, OK, with two-night stands in Chicago, Philadelphia, Madison Square Garden in New York City and the new Barclay's Center in Brooklyn.
