Fall Out Boy Plotting Surprise Guests On LP
February 18, 2013

Fall Out Boy
Fall Out Boy took the stage at the Slam Dunk Contest during the NBA All-Star Weekend in Houston on Saturday night to perform their new single, "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)." The reunited band sported Chicago Bulls jerseys as they rocked out the track, and halfway through the performance, rapper 2 Chainz shot up from below the stage to spit a verse. Apparently this is not the only surprise collaboration the band has in store, as they said in an interview before the show that there will be some unexpected guests on their new album.

"There are going to be a couple of guests," singer Patrick Stump told Billboard.com. "I think we're going to keep mum about it for now." Bassist Pete Wentz added that though they're finished recording their album, there is still some paperwork that has to be signed before clearing the guests.

"Those are the last things that we're working out," Wentz said. "I don't think all of the contracts have been signed yet. But I will say that if people are excited about the 2 Chainz idea, there's more exciting stuff." Guitarist Joe Trohman was a bit more specific, adding, "More left field stuff. But to me it doesn't feel left field. We all like different stuff. I look at it like these four Venn diagrams that kind of all come together in the middle on a bunch of strange stuff that makes cool music."

Fall Out Boy's new album, Save Rock and Roll, is due on April 16, and in May, the band will kick off a national tour that wraps at the end of June. However, they have plenty more activity in store as well. Wentz says that dates frequently are being added to their calendar. "We were just having another meeting because our schedules are constantly shifting with more stuff here and there," he said.
