Roy Barboza is named MD/Mix Show Coordinator at Rhythmic AC WTKK/Boston. Barboza was most recently held the Director/Mix Shows post at CHR WFHN/New Bedford. "I have known Roy for the past 13 years and have always greatly respected both his work as a mixer as well as his integrity and personal character," said Greater Media-Boston Director of Programming Cadillac Jack McCartney. "Roy previously served as my Assistant Music Director for a number of years, and I'm happy we're able to bring him back to Boston to grow his programming skills and showcase the mixes he became famous for with the many listeners Hot 96.9 is already attracting!"

Hot AC KHMX/Houston announces a couple of on-air changes: Blake Hayes moves from afternoons to mornings, while Chad Pitt joins for afternoons from CHR WPOI/Tampa.

Rhythmic CHR KTFM/San Antonio promotes MD/afternoon host Nick Russo to APD/MD.

At CCM+E-Cleveland, Kristen Foley is promoted to VP of Sales.

The promo team of Mike and David Jacobs return to Fearless Records. The duo recently exited from Trauma 2.

Jon Vanhala exits as Head of Digital and New Business at Island Def Jam and Universal Republic Records.

Media industry veteran Alexis Glick is appointed to Cumulus Media's Board of Directors. Glick is the CEO of Genyouth Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing children's health and wellness.

Dean H. Blythe has been elected to the Board of Directors at Journal Communications. Since 2009, Blythe has served as Managing Director of the advisory and investment firm TDF Ventures LLC

Entravision Communications announces the promotion of eight of its employees to EVP: David Burke has been promoted to EVP, Integrated Marketing Solutions; Edward Melendez has been promoted to EVP, Integrated Marketing Solutions, National and Adriana Pena Ruiz has been promoted to EVP, Brand and Sales Development. Entravision has also appointed five regional EVPs: Jeff Apodaca has been promoted to EVP, Integrated Marketing Solutions, Mountain Region; David Candelaria has been promoted to EVP, Integrated Marketing Solutions, West Texas Region; Rolo Duartes joins Entravision as EVP, Integrated Marketing Solutions, Eastern Region; Karl Meyer has been promoted to EVP, Integrated Marketing Solutions, Western Region and Chris Moncayo has been promoted to EVP, Integrated Marketing Solutions, South Texas Region.

Video game maker Harmonix announces that it will no longer offer new downloadable songs for the Rock Band series. Rock Band's popularity quickly plateued after the music game took off as a massive hit a few years back. The company has released weekly downloadable songs for the game for the past five years. Harmonix will host a Rock Band event in Boston on March 21 as part of the gaming convention PAX East, and will reveal soon what the final downloadable song will be.

The NAB announces that Bob Schieffer, renowned broadcast television journalist for CBS, will receive the NAB Distinguished Service Award (DSA) during the 2013 NAB Show. Schieffer will accept the award at the opening keynote session, sponsored by Blackmagic Design, on April 8 in Las Vegas.

HFA will be providing comprehensive rights management support to Rhapsody for its U.S.-based offering as well as for its acquisition of Napster and its international expansion to Germany and the UK.

offers condolences to the the family and friends of former longtime R&R Sales Manager Dick Krizman who passed away on Tuesday (2/19) due to complications from pneumonia. He was 69.
