February 21, 2013

Mike Harris
Mike Harris has been appointed EVP/GM of Caroline – the Independent Services division of Capitol Music Group – it was announced today by Caroline's recently-appointed President, Dominic Pandiscia, to whom Harris will report.  In his new position, Harris will work closely with Pandiscia in overseeing a full range of services and revenue streams for Caroline’s artists, releases and label associations for the U.S., including Marketing, Promotion, Sales, Branding, Synch & Licensing, and Finance. Harris will be based in New York.

Pandiscia says, "Mike and I have worked together for many years, and I’m thrilled to be continuing our association as we fulfill our mandate to take Caroline to new heights. Mike’s leadership of EMI’s Label Services unit since 2010, and his knowledge of the Independent sector of the music business makes him all the more valuable as we design and execute our plans for Caroline’s growth."

Capitol Music Group EVP Michelle Jubelirer adds, "Mike is a well-known and highly regarded executive whose expertise within the Independent artist and label worlds makes him an important force for Caroline. Mike will be integral to Caroline’s success in this period of the company’s expansion and revitalization, and I congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion."

Harris said, "I am thrilled that Steve Barnett and Michelle Jubelirer are already bringing such great new energy and renewed focus to the company, and that they are looking to Caroline to play an important role in the future success of the Capitol Music Group. I’m excited to continue working with great independent artists, executives and label brands to help them achieve success, and being able to do so alongside my good friend Dominic Pandiscia is a dream come true."

Harris most recently served as EVP/GM for EMI Label Services and Caroline Distribution, a position he held since 2010. During Harris’s time in that role, Label Services achieved two Gold albums and Billboard Top 10 debuts with Five Finger Death Punch, Slash, Smashing Pumpkins, All Time Low, The Used, Tyrese and Yellowcard. Previously, he was EVP/Finance Director, Global A&R Operations, overseeing business operations for EMI’s New Music division.  He was EVP/CFO for various labels and divisions within EMI, including Capitol, Virgin and Blue Note, from 2000 to 2008. Harris joined EMI in 1997 and held a number of positions within EMI’s Capitol Music Group before becoming Blue Note’s CFO in 2000. Before joining EMI, Harris worked at Relativity Records.
