Clear Channel and Cumulus have worked out a complex swap of stations, where CC's Ann Arbor, MI and Battle Creek, MI clusters are being traded for Cumulus' Canton, OH stations. Clear Channel owns four stations in each of the Michigan cities. Sources tell FMQB an LMA is set for Friday, September 1.

Yesterday, Tower Records announced it was being put up for sale via Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Now it appears that the most likely bidder will be Trans World Entertainment, making the company the last music retail giant standing. Variety reports Trans World (which owns Sam Goody, FYE and others) would assume Tower's $90 million debt but not actually pay anything for its 89 stores around the country.

XM CEO Hugh Panero has stepped down from the board of directors of Vonage Holdings Corp., to devote more time to his work at the satcaster.

Alan Burns & Associates and Zapoleon Media will both consult the new "Movin 93.9" in Los Angeles (the station formerly known as Country KZLA).

Frankie V joins CHR KHTS/San Diego for nights. Also at Channel 93.3, Kalvin Reed is upped to Assistant Morning Show Producer for AJ's Playhouse.

At Top 40 WNTQ/Syracuse, Rick Roberts is promoted to MD/afternoon drive, while Big Jim Donovan moves to middays.

According to an internal Clear Channel Radio email obtained by FMQB, Derek Rohloff has been named VP of Sales for CC's Real Time Traffic. Rohloff has over 13 years of experience in the automotive industry, including work with HD Radio.

WAVH/Mobile flips from Oldies to Adult Hits as "106.5 The Pirate." Chuck Redden is named GM.

Craig Morrison and Samantha Adams (aka Craig & Sam) join Hot AC WMEE/Ft. Wayne, IN from KKCF/Colorado Springs for morning duty.

Derek Jurand is named PD of Urban AC WQVE/Albany, GA.

Live Nation has sold off SFX Television and SFX Events to private equity firm Blue Equity, LLC. The same company purchased SFX Tennis last month. Other SFX sports divisions have been sold off this summer. “The sale of these SFX sports divisions is in line with our strategy to focus on our core businesses of live music concerts, venue management and website brand development,” said Live Nation President/CEO Michael Rapino.

XM's college football coverage begins next Monday, August 28. Subscribers will now be able to customize the sports tickers on their radios to their specific teams. XM adds the Big East conference to its coverage this season as well.

A new AM station is set to join the Philadelphia market, thanks to the Langer Broadcast Group. WFYL will be based out of the Jefferson Golf Club outside of Philadelphia and air Talk programming from the National Radio Network.
