Michael Alexander Named SVP Of International For IDJ, Motown & Republic Records

Universal Music Group (UMG) has promoted Michael Alexander to SVP of International, Island Def Jam, Motown and Republic Records. He will report to Barry Weiss, Chairman/CEO, East Coast Labels. Alexander formerly served as VP, International, Island Def Jam. He is based in New York City.
In this expanded role, Alexander will oversee artist campaigns under the East Coast Labels umbrella, including the marketing, publicity and promotion functions outside of the U.S. He has worked closely on global efforts for Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Jay Z,Mariah Carey, The Killers and Fall Out Boy, among many others.

Alexander has spent his entire career within the UMG family, having started as an assistant at Island Def Jam in 2005.
