Christian Tattersfield will step down as CEO of Warner Music UK in February 2014. Max Lousada will take over the CEO post. Lousada, who will also continue his current role as Chairman of Atlantic Records UK, will serve as co-CEO with Tattersfield until Tattersfield's exit. Current Parlaphone Reords Chairman and co-Chairman of Warner Music UK, Miles Leonard, will assume full responsibility for Warner Bros. UK following Tattersfield’s departure, reporting to Lousada.
Clear Channel Media and Entertainment-Philadelphia announces that Samuel Tatum has been named Local Sales Manager for WUSL (Power 99 FM), effective immediately. Tatum joins Clear Channel- Philadelphia from his prior position as Marketing Specialist at Radio One in both the Baltimore and D.C. markets.
A lawsuit by SiriusXM shareholders against Liberty Media cannot proceed in court, according to a Delaware Judge. Bloomberg reports that the allegations against Liberty and its takeover of the satcasters were rejected, on the grounds that the investors waited too long to challenge the decision by SiriusXM's Board to enter a loan agreement with Liberty. The agreement took place in 2009 and led to Liberty's eventual takeover of the company.
According to multiple reports, the Carlyle Group is investing $500 million in Beats By Dre. At the same time, Beats is buying back the 25 percent stake in the company held by HTC Corp.
