Linkin Park
Linkin Park and Thirty Seconds To Mars announced that they will join forces this summer for The Carnivores Tour, with special guest AFI. The trek will kick off on August 8 in West Palm Beach, FL and will hit 25 cities before wrapping on September 19 in Concord, CA. In explaining the name of the tour, co-lead singer of Linkin Park Mike Shinoda said, "Carnivores is a metaphor that is meant to convey an appetite for something visceral and substantive, and I feel that's exactly the hunger this tour will feed." Jared Leto of 30STM added, ‎"We are so excited to join our friends on this epic journey. It's going to be the adventure of a lifetime."

Atlantic Records will release Rio 2: Music From the Motion Picture, on March 25. The soundtrack will be heralded by the first single, "What Is Love," by Janelle MonŠe. It also features the song "Welcome Back" by Bruno Mars, who makes his big screen debut in Rio 2 as the character Roberto. The animated movie arrives in theaters on April 11.

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has started a new side project called The Birds of Satan. The group will release an eponymous, seven-song album on April 15, which is already up for pre-order on iTunes. Fellow Foo Fighters Dave Grohl and Pat Smear will both make guest appearances on the album.

The Deftones have started work on their eighth album. Speaking at Melbourne's Soundwave Festival, frontman Chino Moreno told Rolling Stone that while he hasn't begun work on the album personally, "the other guys started last week Ė I'm excited to hear what they've done so far." As for the group's songwriting process, he explained: "We don't plan on what kind of record we're going to make. We react to each other Ė one guy starts playing something then the other guy reacts to it, and the other guys react to that. Next thing we know, we have a song. I think that's the best, organic way to write music. It's worked for us over the years."
