Arbitron and comScore Media Metrix have released the latest round of Internet radio ratings for June 2006 and find that the online audience continues to grow by leaps and bounds.
The weekday AQH audience for June of this year was 1,031,368 people ages 12+. Arbitron compared the five online networks measured last year to their current audience and found a 38 percent increase over the weekday AQH listenership from June 2005. Last June, the AQH audience was 743,000 people 12+. This year, it reached 1,022,400. ESPN Radio was not measured in the comScore ratings last June, so its numbers were excluded from the comparison.
Out of the six currently measured Internet radio networks, Yahoo Music/LAUNCHcast came out on top in June, with a weekday cume of 1,505,200 and an AQH of 318,800. AOL Radio was in second, with a weekday cume of 1,106,100 and an AQH of 313,700. Clear Channel's online initiatives combined for third with a weekday cume of 783,500 and an AQH of 130,100. MSN Radio/WindowsMedia.com, Live365 and ESPN Radio all followed.
