Quick Hits: Britney Spears, My Chemical Romance, mtvU Woodie Awards, Warped Tour, Duran Duran, The Cure, Jewel, Radio 4
October 26, 2006

It looks like the mystery surrounding Britney Spears' second child has been cleared up, as the baby's birth certificate was made public this week. Originally, media reports said that her son was named Sutton Pierce, but the official certificate revealed the child's name as Jayden James Federline. As for the father, Kevin Federline has been gearing up for the release of his debut album, Playing With Fire, next Tuesday, and made a return appearance on WWE Raw this past Monday night.

My Chemical Romance

My Chemical Romance have signed on as one of the headliners for next year's Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, NJ. The two-day Punk rock event is slated for May 5 and 6 of 2007, with tickets going on sale on November 24. More bands are expected to be announced in the near future. MCR is currently on a brief U.S. tour in support of their new album The Black Parade, and will head overseas starting November 8 in Stockholm.

The mtvU Woodie Awards were handed out in New York last night. Fans cast their votes online for the college music-themed awards, which saw Angels & Airwaves, Taking Back Sunday, Gorillaz, 30 Seconds To Mars and AFI among the winners. Performers included Beck, Imogen Heap and Gym Class Heroes.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will open a new exhibit showcasing the long-running Warped Tour this January."It's a great honor for the Hall to recognize the success of Warped, and I know it's a special thing for a lot of the bands," Warped founder Kevin Lyman told MTV News. "So many of them have donated their personal gear, because they realize how great this is. A lot of them have kids now, and so they looked at it like, 'Well, I don't know if I'll ever get into the Hall, but now at least my guitar will.' " Bands such as New Found Glory, Anti-Flag and NOFX have all donated items to the exhibit, which is expect to run until June 2007, afterwards all the exhibit's artifacts will be placed in a time capsule for 25 years.

After reuniting the original lineup of the band, Duran Duran is down one member once more. Guitarist Andy Taylor has left the group, which he also did back in 1985, according to their MySpace page. They write, "we have reached a point in our relationship with him where there is an unworkable gulf between us and we can no longer effectively function together."

The Cure will release the live DVD Festival 2005 on December 5, which captures performances from their nine European festival gigs that summer.

Jewel will begin an acoustic tour on November 7 in Verona, NY, with dates scheduled through December 2 in Atlantic City. The singer-songwriter will be keeping busy early next year as the new host of USA's Nashville Star reality show, and she recently shot appearances in upcoming episodes of Las Vegas and Men In Trees.

Radio 4 will hit the road on a brief tour with The Bravery beginning November 28 in Boston. Meanwhile, Astralwerks labelmates Small Sins and The Little Ones will head out on tour together starting in Chicago on November 16.
