Last month, My Chemical Romance announced their first full-scale North American tour in support of 2006's The Black Parade. Frontman Gerard Way hopes that MCR will be playing live non-stop this year and jokingly has nicknamed the new year "tour thousand and seven." He tells MTV News, "We're going to try to bring the music on the record to life with a really good live show. Something special, something big," and he also predicted the band will be on the road for the next two years. My Chemical Romance is also getting set to unveil the video for "Famous Last Words," the second single from the new album. Bassist Mikey Way describes the clip as "just us in full destruction. We were out in the desert and there was a lot of fire."
MCR's 2007 tour kicks off in Auckland, NZ on January 19 and they return to North America on February 22 with Rise Against opening the first leg of the tour. The second leg of dates has yet to be announced, but Muse is expected to be on board for those shows. My Chem also have a series of European dates slated in March and April, and will be one of the headliners for the Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey in May.
