Kyambo "Hip-Hop" Joshua has been named President of Columbia Records' Urban department.

 

Due to restructuring, Mark Todd will exit the OM post at NRG Media-Omaha effective this Friday, August 31.

 

Emmis/Chicago makes some changes in the overnights, eliminating live jocks in favor of more music. At Modern Rock WKQX (Q101), Kevin Manno moves from the overnights to 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., sharing the 10-midnight shift with his brother, night jock Ryan Manno. According to The Chicago Sun-Times, at sister Classic Rocker WLUP (The Loop), "Crazy Ray" Styles exits overnights.

 

Reports say that Chris Devine and Clear Channel are still negotiating a deal, thought dead, which would sell off CC stations in 11 markets. Clear Channel has filed an extension with the FCC in the proposed sale.

After a year and a half, The Washington Post is ending its Washington Post Radio experiment in the nation's capital. The WTWP simulcast will no longer be carried on two Bonneville stations as of the end of September, though the stations will remain News/Talk formatted.

Russian music site AllOfMP3.com will reopen, according to Reuters, now that a Moscow court has ruled in its favor. According to the court decision, the site operates in line with Russian laws.
