The RAB releases January 2008 radio revenue numbers, which declined once again. Local revenue fell by five percent, nation revenue dropped an alarming 13 percent, though non-spot revenue grew by 11 percent. Overall, all radio revenue fell six percent for the month.

 

Veteran Programmer Dick Raymond is named OM for the Clear Channel-Salisbury/Ocean City station cluster. Raymond, who replaces Brian Cleary, will also handle programming for Country WWFG taking over for Sandra Lee, who had been serving as Interim PD at WWFG. Lee will continue as the station’s APD/MD.

 

Kevin Murphy shifts from SVP/Market Manager at CBS Radio-Detroit for the Market Manager post for CBS in Riverside/San Bernardino.

 

At Modern Rock WPBZ/West Palm Beach, Randi Rasar joins the Morning Buzz team of Loper & Smitty.

 

Market veteran Dave "Kane-o" Kane joins Entercom-Rochester Classic Rock WCMF for PD/midday duties. Kane will be in place on February 25.

Triple A WRSI/Northampton, MA MD/morning host Chris “Monte” Belmonte gets upped to PD as former WNRN/Charlottesville MD Jaz Tupelo, who recently joined the station in afternoons, gets her MD stripes.

 

RED Distribution announces the following promotions: Tony Bruno rises to SVP/Marketing and Neil Ross is upped to SVP/Business & Legal Affairs.

 

Arbitron Inc. VP, National Group Services, Rich Tunkel will expand his responsibilities to include leading the Northeast sales efforts as a Radio Station Services Regional Manager.
