Rock The Bells Festival Expands In '08
April 23, 2008

Nas

This year's Rock The Bells festival expands to a full tour, as the Hip-Hop festival will visit ten cities this summer. It will be headlined by A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Mos Def, De La Soul, Rakim and the reunited Pharcyde. The festival kicks off in Chicago on July 19 before wrapping up in Vancouver on August 30. This year's tour will make its first stops ever in Philadelphia (August 3), Vancouver and Toronto (July 20).

Rock The Bells enjoyed quite a bit of success last year, after scoring big name acts like the reunited Rage Against The Machine, the Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy and others.

"They asked me, and I immediately decided to do it," A Tribe Called Quest's Q-Tip tells Billboard. "With the amazing lineup, Rock The Bells is definitely this summer's must see show. Plus, Rock The Bells has given me the opportunity to reunite with my legendary cohorts - Ali and Phife - and premiere my latest material from The Renaissance."

Other acts on the tour include Santogold, Spank Rock, Kid Sister, the Cool Kids, Method Man & Redman, Raekwon & Ghostface, Dead Prez and many others.

Once the North American tour finishes at the end of August, many of the acts will head across the pond for several Rock The Bells concerts in Europe and Japan, which begin September 20 in London.

Rock The Bells North American dates:

July 19 - Chicago
July 20 - Toronto
July 26 - Boston
July 27 - New York City
Aug 2 - Miami
Aug 3 - Camden, NJ
Aug 9 - Denver
Aug 16 - San Francisco
Aug 23 - Los Angeles
Aug 30 - Vancouver
