One of Pop music's top stars, Usher is buying a minority ownership in the NBA franchise Cleveland Cavaliers, which boasts one of the NBA's top stars in Lebron James, reports the Bloomberg News and the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Usher, whose full name is Usher Raymond, is reportedly part of an ownership group led by Dan Gilbert, who recently agreed in principle to buy the Cavs for $375 million.
No one is commenting until the deal is finalized and given NBA approval. But Usher isn't the first musical act to become involved in owning or investing in an NBA franchise. Rap star Nelly is a minority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats while Jay-Z is an investor in the New Jersey Nets.
