With March Madness around the corner, Sirius wants to crown the ultimate sports rally song of 2005. The satcaster has set up an online tournament to determine which tune gets sports fans pumped up the most. Sirius Music Mayhem will last five weeks, with a grid of 64 songs facing off until only one remains. The game runs until March 27 and can be found online at www.sirius.com/mayhem.
Voting has already begun in the first six rounds of the tournament. Prizes will be awarded to participants, including Sirius radios and even a trip to this year's NCAA Finals.
"The Sirius Music Mayhem tournament will once-and-for-all determine the 2005 National Champion of sports anthems," said Music Mayhem Commissioner (aka Sirius SVP of Marketing) Tola Murphy-Baran. "AC/DC, the Rolling Stones, Queen and Survivor are the top seeds in this competition, but there are many other worthy challengers, so unless you want to see 'Who Let the Dogs Out,' 'Macarena' or 'Whoomp! There It Is' advance to the final rounds, we encourage everyone to play Sirius Music Mayhem!"
