 Queens Of The Stone Age

Last week found countless bands and music industry types descending upon Austin, TX for the annual South By Southwest conference. While big names such as Robert Plant, Brian Wilson and Elvis Costello were all in attendance, one of the hottest tickets around was an exclusive, late night gig that wasn't even officially on the SXSW itinerary, starring Queens Of The Stone Age.Days before the release of their anticipated new Lullabies To Paralyze, Josh Homme and company took over an airplane hangar rocking out their new material, as well as earlier work. Longtime QOTSA cohort Mark Lanegan even rejoined the band, singing on a handful of songs. Opening the show was up-and-coming dance-rock act The Bravery.
Queens Of The Stone Age have a busy week ahead. Lullabies To Paralyze arrives in stores tomorrow, but the band will celebrate tonight with a midnight in-store appearance and performance in New York City. They will perform Tuesday night on the Late Show With David Letterman and Friday night on Late Night With Conan O'Brien.
