Equity firm Elevation Partners, which includes U2's Bono, and is even named after one of the band's songs, is in the midst of a bidding war to purchase video game company Eidos PLC. Eidos is best known for the hugely successful Tomb Raider series of games. Eidos had agreed to accept Elevation's offer (reported to be $136.3 million), when rival video game maker SCi Entertainment stepped in with a counter offer of $144 million. Eidos executives are still considering both offers. To tie everything together, U2 contributed the song "Elevation" to the first Lara Croft: Tomb Raider movie soundtrack.
