The Strokes have definitely been flying under the radar while working on their next effort, but the band decided to throw fans a small bone by writing, "The Strokes have an announcement to make: They are almost done recording their third album," on their official Web site. The latest fan club newsletter does have slightly more news about the record, as singer Julian Casablancas said, "It will be better than the last one. We'd like for it to sound a little more professional but still sound like us."
Meanwhile, another post on The Strokes' Web site says that Epiphone guitars has made a signature model based on the guitar of Nick Valensi. The guitar, dubbed the Epiphone Elitist Nick Valensi Riviera P-94, is part of a line of vintage-inspired Epiphones.
As previously reported, The Strokes are working with producer David Kahne (Paul McCartney, Sugar Ray) and they plan to tour extensively once the album is finished.
