System Of A Down

System Of A Down has shot a video for the new single "B.Y.O.B." with director Jake Nava, who is known for his work with Pop stars like Destiny's Child and Usher. A report on MTV.com said the video will feature the band playing in a defunct L.A. nightclub as well as on the Fourth Street Bridge in the middle of the night. The clip will debut sometime in late April. System's first album of 2005, Mesmerize, will be released on May 17, and a second disc, Hypnotize, will be out later this year.

Avril Lavigne is planning to kick off a summer tour of North America, which will start July 13 in London, Ontario and wrap on September 3 in Montreal. Gavin DeGraw and Butch Walker will each open various shows, with more openers to be announced. Billboard says that Avril will spice up the show this time around by making appearances on drums and piano as well as playing some songs acoustically. Meanwhile, Avril took home three trophies from Canada's 34th annual Juno Awards on Sunday (4/3). She won Artist Of The Year, Pop Album Of The Year for Under My Skin, and the Juno Fan Choice Award.

It has finally been revealed that Mudvayne is the fifth band that will appear on the main stage of Ozzfest. Ozzfest.com had previously left a "mystery" space on the site when the initial main stage line up of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Shadows Fall and Black Label Society was announced, but this morning a photo of Mudvayne was posted in that spot. The band's upcoming album, Lost And Found, is due on April 4.

A movie about the life of Notorious B.I.G. could be on its way to the big screen. According to MTV.com, Biggie's mother, P. Diddy and Training Day director Antoine Fuqua are heading up the project. It is not known who will portray Biggie, but the script should be finished this summer and the movie may begin filming in February 2006.

The Sanctuary Group has acquired Twenty-First Artists Limited from Sir Elton John and co-owners Frank Presland and Keith Bradley. Twenty-First manages Elton John and also has worked with Jamiroquai and Mis-Teeq. "I am very pleased to be involved with Sanctuary as I have been impressed by the approach they take, particularly toward the artist," said John. "I feel strongly that this will represent the continuation of a very creative period for me and I am looking forward to working with [Executive Chairman] Andy Taylor, [CEO] Merck Mercuriadis and the whole team."

Web site MovieHole.com is reporting that Bruce Willis and Justin Timberlake got along so well on the set of the film Alpha Dog that Willis has invited J.T. to star in the next Die Hard movie. Timberlake would be up for the part of John Jr., the son of Willis' character John McClane. In other movie news, ContactMusic.com says that Madonna's cameo appearance in the movie Revolver, directed by her husband Guy Ritchie, has been cut. The last time Madonna and Ritchie collaborated on screen was in 2002's Swept Away.

Rob Thomas' first solo album, ...Something To Be, will be released in DualDisc format on April 19. The DVD side will include behind-the-scenes footage, a photo gallery and the entire album mixed in surround sound. Thomas will make a rare two-night stand on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday, April 18 and Tuesday, April 19, and he will appear on The Ellen Degeneres Show on April 25.

Jesse McCartney will embark on his first U.S. headlining tour as a solo artist in support of his debut album, Beautiful Soul. The tour will open on May 2 in Sacramento and end in late June. Before taking off, McCartney will make a video for his next single, "She's No You."

Blues Traveler and Hootie & The Blowfish have both signed recording contracts with Vanguard Records, according to Billboard.com. Both bands are expected to release a new album in August or September.

Astralwerks artist Athlete will hit the road with Snow Patrol on May 12 and the band will mix in some of its own headlining dates on off nights from the tour. The road trip ends on June 9 in Los Angeles, and Athlete will perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live on June 8.

Zomba Publishing/Octone Records artist As Fast As has secured the opening slot on The Wonderstuff's upcoming American tour. The trek starts Tuesday, April 5 in Asbury Park, NJ and wraps on May 8 in New York.
