Jimmy Eat World, Papa Roach Go For The Gold
April 5, 2005

Kelly Clarkson

The month of March was a landmark for many diverse artists as the RIAA awarded a total of five Multi-Platinum, 10 Platinum and 26 Gold albums. Jimmy Eat World, Papa Roach and The Used all earned Gold honors, as did Omarion, The Postal Service, Smile Empty Soul and Relient K. Meanwhile, The Game and Kelly Clarkson both went Multi-Platinum with their newest efforts. Clarkson also earned her third Gold digital single for "Miss Independent," as well as a pair of Platinum and Multi-Platinum digital singles for more than 400,000 downloads each of "Breakaway" and "Since U Been Gone." The Game also picked up a Platinum digital single for "How We Do."

Another pair of artists earned their first Platinum awards in March, as Jesse McCartney's Beautiful Soul and T.I.'s Urban Legend each crossed the one million sales mark. McCartney also earned a Gold digital single for the title track to Beautiful Soul.

Last but not least, Stevie Wonder earned his first-ever RIAA Diamond Award for selling more than 10 million copies of Songs In The Key Of Life. The album represents the 11th Gold, sixth Platinum and second multi-Platinum album of his career. Next up for Wonder is the release of A Time 2 Love, due in stores on May 3.
