Metallica Unveils Different Versions Of "Death"
July 8, 2008

Metallica

Metallica has announced details of the various Death Magnetic packages which fans can order from the Web site MissionMetallica.com. The first package, Digital Death Magnetic, can be had for $24.99. It includes a digital delivery of the album at midnight on the street date, downloads of two entire shows from this summer, almost two hours of exclusive fly-on-the-wall footage, 250 exclusive photos, ringtones of riffs from the new album, access to exclusive contests and $10 off merchandise or Fan Club membership at Metallica.com or MetClub.com.

The next package, Death Magnetic CD + Digital Death Magnetic, is $32.99 and includes all those same perks plus Death Magnetic on CD, which people will receive with free shipping. And finally, the hard core collectors can buy the LP and lithograph package for $124.99, which again includes all the stuff from the other packages as well as a five-LP 180 gram box with five individual sleeves, a Mission: Metallica Lithograph and the Death Magnetic CD, all with free shipping.

The long-awaited Death Magnetic, produced by Metallica and Rick Rubin, is due in September. The band will hit some European festivals later this month and their next U.S. date is the one-day Ozzfest on August 9 in Dallas. A full North American tour will reportedly commence in October.
