Steven M. Smith has been appointed EVP of Survey Operations for Arbitron, reporting to Chairman/President/CEO Steve Morris. Smith succeeds Claire Kummer, who is taking on the new position of EVP and chief quality officer. He will be responsible for all of Arbitron’s survey operations for both the Portable People Meter and diary-based radio ratings services, including accountability for successfully completing the roll out of the PPM to the top 50 markets.
At the NAB Radio Show in Austin, TX next month, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin and Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein will both be on hand. Martin will be interviewed the morning of Thursday, September 18, while Adelstein will be interviewed the following morning.
