Programming vet Keith Abrams has been named OM for Clear Channel's Cleveland cluster of six stations: News/Talk WTAM-A, Country WGAR, Oldies WMJI, Top 40 WAKS, Active Rock WMMS and Hot AC WMVX.

 

Sirius XM Radio announced three more executive promotions: Martin Lee (SVP of Marketing), Patrick Reilly (SVP of Communications) and Ross Zapin (VP/GM of promotions and events marketing) will all report to President/Chief Content Officer Scott Greenstein.

 

Ty joins Clear Channel Modern Rocker WCHH (Channel 104.3)/Baltimore as APD/MD/midday host. She comes to Channel 104.3 from WKRL/Syracuse, where she had been Acting PD. “It’s very exciting to grow and build our team at Channel 104.3 in Baltimore. Our nationwide search for talent ended when we found Ty. She’s an extremely engaging air personality, sure to be a solid complement to Elliot In The Morning at Channel 104.3," said PD Dave Wellington. Steven M. Smith has been appointed EVP of Survey Operations for Arbitron, reporting to Chairman/President/CEO Steve Morris. Smith succeeds Claire Kummer, who is taking on the new position of EVP and chief quality officer. He will be responsible for all of Arbitron’s survey operations for both the Portable People Meter and diary-based radio ratings services, including accountability for successfully completing the roll out of the PPM to the top 50 markets.

 

At the NAB Radio Show in Austin, TX next month, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin and Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein will both be on hand. Martin will be interviewed the morning of Thursday, September 18, while Adelstein will be interviewed the following morning.

 

In Dallas, with KDBN (93.3 The Bone) shifting more towards Heritage Rock, the station jettisons its The Classic Rock Station handle in favor of The Rock of Texas.

Sony unveils four new in-dash car stereos that are HD Radio ready, as well as iPod and satellite radio compatible as well.

 

Beka Tischker is promoted to VP/A&R and Music Publishing for Razor & Tie Entertainment. Tischker joined the staff of Razor & Tie as Senior Director, A&R in 2006.

 

As Pandora seeks out new revenue streams, it brings aboard Priscilla Valls as Senior Sales Manager for its New York office.
