AC KMGW makes the switch to Classic Rock as The New Rock 96.7 with Bob & Tom in the morning.

Urban WQBT/Savannah, GA names Todd "Chase" Gore PD. Gore joins the station from WIBT/Charlotte, where he was MD.

Rhythmic AC WMVN/St. Louis will flip to Sports, effective January 1, and become the city's ESPN Radio affiliate as well.

Non-comm Triple A WFUV/New York promotes News staffer George Bodarky to News and Public Affairs Director, while bringing in Robin Shannon to take Bodarky’s former position as Assistant News and Public Affairs Director beginning October 6. Shannon will also anchor newscast on the ’FUV Morning Show.

Dial Global has announced plans for merging the Dial Global Digital 24/7 Formats with those acquired from Jones Radio Networks. Dial Global now provides twenty-four hour programming to nearly 1,700 stations. The five new formats are Mainstream Country, Hot Country, Hot AC, Classic Rock and Kool Gold and will launch on December 29.

 

The deal to keep Opie & Anthony on satellite radio is one step closer as the boys checked out of their Sirius XM show a little early today for a meeting with the company's big wigs.  In other O&A news, the tabloid headline romance between Anthony and Jill Nicolini has come to an end when the former Playboy playmate caught another girl hiding in his closet.  It looks like "single-Anthony" is back, and we couldn't be happier.
