 Justin Timberlake
| Justin Timberlake looks like he's concentrating more and more an acting these days and less on music. He is currently in talks to star in the movie Black Snake Moan, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The plot revolves around a nymphomaniac (Christina Ricci) who enlists an older bluesman (Samuel L. Jackson) to help "cure" her disorder. If casted, Timberlake would play Ricci's boyfriend. Meanwhile, J.T. also appears in the forthcoming Alpha Dog, where he portrays a member of a drug gang led by Jesse James Hollywood, who orchestrated the kidnapping and murder of a 15-year-old in 2000. He also stars alongside Kevin Spacey, Morgan Freeman and LL Cool J in Edison, where he plays a young journalist who uncovers a unit of corrupt cops. Plus, he will voice a young King Arthur in the third Shrek movie.
The annual Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans will take place on October 29 and 30, and the initial lineup has been unveiled. So far the fest features Nine Inch Nails, Queens Of The Stone Age, Billy Idol, My Chemical Romance, Cake, The Flaming Lips, The Bravery, Digable Planets, Joss Stone, Social Distortion and many more. Additional artists will be announced throughout the summer. Tickets will go on sale July 8 at VoodooMusicFest.com.
Trapt will release a new album, Someone In Control, on September 13. The first single, "Stand Up," will be available through digital services like iTunes, Real and Napster on July 5. Singer Chris Brown has posted a message on Trapt's MySpace.com page, which reads, "This record is very personal and it touches on the fine lines between taking and giving up control. The last three years have completely changed our lives. We see things differently. The different members of the band have more complex personal lives and I think we are learning to balance our lives together as well as being alone. The balance of control has also changed. It's not so much about being 'headstrong' and completely independent anymore. It's quite exhausting to maintain complete independence forever. At some point we all need to give up some control to share our thoughts and emotions with other people."
The Foo Fighters have added some Canadian tour dates to their docket, including August 5 in Vancouver, August 7 in Edmonton, August 8 in Calgary, and August 10 in Winnipeg. After that the band heads over to Europe for more shows, but they have said they'll do a full U.S. tour in the fall.
The James Gang, featuring the definitive lineup of Jim Fox, Dale Peters and Joe Walsh, is playing a handful of reunion shows in the Cleveland area this weekend, and one on Wednesday, June 29 at Cleveland's House Of Blues. Reportedly, all three shows sold out in a matter of hours. This has sparked rumors of a possible reunion tour, but as of now that is not confirmed.
