The Boss

A new Bruce Springsteen song, "Workin' on a Dream," will premiere November 16 on NBC's Sunday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins. The song will be heard during the halftime segment. "Workin' on a Dream" was first played acoustically by Springsteen during a Barack Obama rally in Columbus, Ohio, and it is rumored to appear on Springsteen's next album, which will be released in January according to fansite Backstreets.com.

Jay-Z is taking his time crafting The Blueprint 3, so don't expect the album to drop this year. Kanye West, who has produced a bunch of tracks for Jay's album, told MTV Base, "We went in and we done the whole album. He wanted to do a few more joints, so he kinda pushed it back. Now we're gonna go in and just work on some more records. So I got some more stuff to kill it with! I think [Jay pushed the album back because the early single] 'Swagger Like Us' just did so incredible. We wanted to go up [and make sure] everything was on that level."

AFI has finished penning tunes for their eighth album and is now ready to hit the studio and record. "We have a fabulous producer we'll be working with, David Bottrill, who has worked on some fantastic and legendary albums by Peter Garbiel, Muse, Silverchair, Placebo and Tool," wrote guitarist Jade Puget on the AFI Web site. "We've spent this whole year crafting these songs and we're impatient to share them, so let's get busy." The band's last effort, Decemberunderground, came out in 2006.

Will LupEND be Lupe Fiasco's last album? The Rapper said as much during a Halloween show in Chicago, explaining that "END" stands for "everywhere," "nowhere" and "down here." No release date is confirmed for the three-CD set, and Atlantic Records is declining comment on reports that Lupe will hang up his mic for good. Fiasco told Billboard last December, "LupEND - that's going to be my last album's title. When you play a video game, you can only put in three letters for your name and when the game's over, those three letters and 'END' pop up. My next record might be my last one."

Jimmy Eat World will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their seminal album Clarity with a short tour early next year. The band will play the entire record start to finish at ten shows (for the 10th anniversary) in New York, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Tempe, AZ.

Framing Hanley will re-issue their album The Moment next Tuesday, with their cover of Lil Wayne's hit single "Lollipop" added in. It is already available digitally on iTunes. After a handful of  dates in Tennessee and South Carolina this month, the band will be on the road opening for Theory Of A Deadman up until mid-December.

Blind Melon has been forced to cancel a U.S. club tour due to the exit of singer Travis Warren. Warren claims that he was fired from the group because of vocal problems, but the band says that it was he who walked out on them. "The reality is that Travis did not want to go on this tour, and his reasons for this changed many times," Blind Melon wrote in a long and detailed blog on their MySpace page. "We will have our side of the story and Travis will have his, and the two shall not meet." Ultimately, the band is going to carry on with a new singer. "We're looking for somebody from outer space that has their feet on the ground," they wrote. "We're looking for somebody who has a voice that inspires new songs and sheds new light on our old songs. We're not looking for clones, drones, jokers, clowns, or drama queens. If you are interested or know somebody else who is, send an mp3 or video/audio link to
blindmelonsinger@gmail.com."

The Los Angeles man arrested on accusations that he uploaded nine Guns N' Roses songs from the Chinese Democracy album has agreed to plead guilty to one federal count of copyright infringement, according to Wired. Kevin Cogill, who the FBI said confessed to uploading the songs to his music site, antiquiet, is scheduled to enter a plea December 8. Authorities reduced the charge from a felony to a misdemeanor last month, which could give Cogill a maximum one-year prison term. Because of his acceptance of responsibility and lack of a criminal record, Cogill is likely to receive substantially less time, if any, says Wired.

Stephen Jenkins of Third Eye Blind

Third Eye Blind return with a new EP, Red Star, out next Tuesday, November 18. The band's new single, "Non-Dairy Creamer," impacts at radio the same day as well. TEB will release a new album, Ursa Major, in the spring of 2009.
