As expected, Sirius XM Radio has announced its new, shared channel lineup, with a number of channels being renamed or replaced in the wake of the satcasters' merger. The changes for Sirius subscribers can be found here, with the new XM lineup found here. The new lineup of channels went into effect first thing this morning.
"This is the ultimate evolution for our channels and sets a new bar for audio entertainment. The breadth and quality of the new programming lineups make it clear that everything worth listening to is now on Sirius XM," stated Scott Greenstein, Sirius XM Radio President/Chief Content Officer.
Among the Sirius channels XM subscribers now have access to are Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Radio, Jimmy Buffett's Radio Margaritaville, The Grateful Dead Channel, Eminem's Shade 45 and "Little Steven" Van Zandt's Underground Garage. Meanwhile, Sirius subscribers can now access XM programming including Bob Dylan's Theme Time Hour, Tom Petty's Buried Treasure, Marky Ramone's Punk Rock Blitzkrieg and B.B. King's Bluesville.
With Sirius content replacing a number of XM channels that had been made redundant, more layoffs are expected in the immediate future.
