Fences To Release Another Free Remixed Track

Following the recently released Ryan Lewis remix of "Otherside" by Seattle hip-hop artist Macklemore, Fences are rolling out another hip-hop influenced remix, this time of their own song "My Girl The Horse." DJ/producer Sabzi, who is one part of Seattle hip-hop duo Blue Scholars, remixed the song, giving it a stuttering beat and dark keyboard lines to heighten the emotional roller coaster documented by the lyrics. "My Girl The Horse" will be featured on tonight's episode of One Tree Hill on The WB Network, check your local listings for show times. The song will also be featured as the Song of the Day on http://www.eatsleepbreathemusic.com/blog/.

Fences, the stage-name for Christopher Mansfield mellow and melancholic indie-rock music, recently released their eponymous debut via Onto Entertainment/ADA records in September, and have been touring throughout 2010 in support of the album's release. Fences was produced by Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara fame. Fences will be featured as a part of Amazon's "Deal of the Day" on November 20th.

Band Of Horses “Dilly” Video To World Premiere Today Exclusively On IMDb (click for more)
Band of Horses has confirmed that its surreal 70s biker flick homage “Dilly” will receive its world premiere today exclusively on IMDb. The unprecedented collaboration is IMDb’s first-ever foray into music video premieres. To watch and learn more about the borderline disturbing “Dilly” video, visit http://www.imdb.com/features/bandofhorses/

“This is the first of our videos to truly capture the essence of what a day in our personal lives is actually like,” said Band of Horses singer Ben Bridwell.

Directed by Philip Andelman, the mini-epic “Dilly” video (runtime 3:40) is a companion to the track off the band’s self-financed Infinite Arms album (released May 18, 2010 on Brown/Fat Possum/Columbia) which was recently voted one of the best releases of 2010 to date by NPR’s listenership. Shot entirely on location in the Mojave desert, the video pays tribute to the biker films of the ‘70s and contains unexpected elements ranging from synchronized dancing to simulated violence and a eclectic cast comprised of actors and bikers. The “Dilly” video reflects the spirit of creativity and freedom that pervades the Infinite Arms album, which was written, recorded and inspired by different locales across America, including the Mojave desert.

To celebrate this unique video release strategy, the band is making their Infinite Arms album available to fans who visit
http://www.imdb.com/features/bandofhorses/  at a discounted price of $9.99.

Band of Horses’ “Dilly” music video is available for the next 48 hours exclusively on IMDb.com and IMDb’s leading mobile app for iPhone and iPad. This is the first time IMDb has premiered original content via its popular mobile app for iPhone and iPad, which has been installed by more than 8 million users.

Middle Class Rut "No Name No Color" In Stores Today
Middle Class Rut - No Name No Color
(Bright Antenna)

MIDDLE CLASS RUT are two guys from Sacramento artfully blurring the line between heavy and melodic with raw, energized rock and roll. The group's two members, SEAN STOCKHAM (vocals, drums) and ZACK LOPEZ (vocals, guitars), have been playing together since they were teenagers. The pair records every song they write together almost immediately in their rehearsal space, capturing the instantaneous spirit of a track while still in the moment. They've toured with a range of artists like Social Distortion, Alice In Chains, Them Crooked Vultures, The Bronx and ...Trail Of Dead. The single, "New Low," is making waves. MySpace chose the band for their selective "Introducing..." monthly program with Fuse and the incredibly entertaining video can be seen at http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=106354959. Alternative radio is embracing it; adds are rolling in for major markets like Live 105/San Francisco, The End/Seattle and 89X/Detroit.

THAT THING THEY DO: ADAM SCHLESINGER AND MIKE VIOLA TO PERFORM TOGETHER

This July, renowned pop songwriters and frequent collaborators Adam Schlesinger (Fountains Of Wayne/Ivy/Tinted Windows) and Mike Viola (Candy Butchers) will be doing a few intimate shows together, performing songs from their respective albums as well as songs written for films and other projects.

Both writers have balanced their careers as recording artists with work as songwriters-for-hire, and both are skilled at mimicking various eras in pop history. In 1996, Viola sang and co-produced Schlesinger's Beatlesque title track to Tom Hanks' That Thing You Do. Recently, Viola wrote hilarious Britpop anthems for Russell Brand in Get Him To The Greek and many of the pseudo-classics featured in Judd Apatow's music biopic parody Walk Hard. Schlesinger's songs were featured in the Hugh Grant/Drew Barrymore film Music And Lyrics, about the comeback attempt of a washed-up 80's idol; he also won a Grammy and received an Emmy nomination for A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift Of All!, as well as two Tony nominations for the Broadway version of John Waters' rockabilly fable Cry-Baby.

Viola and Schlesinger will perform at Philadelphia's Tin Angel on July 27, and at Joe's Pub in NYC on July 29. They will also perform with the string quartet ETHEL as part of the Lincoln Center Out Of Doors series on July 28 (a show which will also feature Tom Verlaine, Juana Molina, and Dayna Kurtz).

Complete performance schedule is below:

July 27      Tin Angel Philadelphia - 8:00 pm
July 28      Lincoln Center Out Of Doors NYC with ETHEL String Quartet - 7:30 pm
July 29      Joe's Pub NYC - 11:30 pm

Three Days Grace In X Games Coverage
"Riot," "Break" and "The Good Life" will be featured on ESPN's coverage of the The Winter X Games! More great exposure for Three Days Grace http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/index?id=4866629.

The Winter X Games on ESPN kicked off Thursday. Ask your kids. They'll be watching the four-day action sports competition in Aspen, Colo. One rock band that wishes to be there and can't is Three Days Grace. The Toronto-based rockers -- Adam Gontier, Neil Sanderson, Brad Walst and Barry Stock -- are huge action sports fans but are on a national tour in the United States to promote their album "Life Starts Now." So Three Days Grace did the next best thing. They provided some music -- "Riot," "Break" and "The Good Life" -- for ESPN's coverage.

"'We love watching the X Games," said Gontier, who is the lead singer and guitarist. "We grew up skiing, snowboarding and being a ski bum for a couple of years. We just enjoy the winters." To help Three Days Grace's winter sports fix, they brought hockey equipment on the road. They play concerts Friday in Evansville, Ind., and Saturday in Fort Wayne, Ind., so they might have time Thursday.

"We're such huge hockey fans that we travel with it in our tour bus," Sanderson said. "We usually play concerts in converted hockey rinks. So we put on our skates and we go for it." Gontier said the band members actually thought about hockey as a career, but thought it was smart to stick to music. "We wish we were in the NHL. And, since we know a lot of NHL players, they wish they were in a rock band," Gontier said. "There are a lot of parallels to the jobs. But we don't have to wake up as early."
