Forbes Interviews Anthrax's Scott Ian, AMC Makes Him A Zombie

From "In the 1980s, Anthrax rose to the top of the heavy metal heap thanks to their signature “stomp” and “crushing riffs” which have inspired generations of bands. A collaboration with hip hop legends Public Enemy on the game-changing crossover hit “Bring the Noise” in 1991 cemented their status as genre innovators. Now some 30 years later, Anthrax still brings the noise.

Last month, “Worship Music”, the band’s first studio album in eight years, stampeded onto the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, landing at #12, the band’s highest chart debut in two decades, and second-highest in its career, selling 28,500 copies. I spoke with Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian about the band’s recent success, surviving the music industry, brand power and the impact of social media." Read the entire interview here:

Elsewhere, Ian was recently cast as a zombie in a webisode of AMC's hit horror series The Walking Dead. You can view his scene below:

Steel Panther’s New Single, “17 Girls In A Row” Is Available On iTunes Beginning Today!

The legends of the Sunset Strip, Steel Panther, are getting ready to release their sophomore album Balls Out via Universal Republic Records.  The album will be released on November 1st and will continue the raucous tradition of the band’s 2009 debut, Feel The Steel.  The album’s first single  “17 Girls In A Row” is available beginning today on iTunes.

The song showcases the band’s ability to write memorable hooks while mixing them with their signature style lyrics like “I banged 17 girls in a grocery store and never lost my erection.”  With its driving opening drum beat and infectious guitar riff, “17 Girls In A Row” will be sure to heat up rock airwaves and give it a much needed kick in the balls – no pun intended.

Buzz Band: Message To Venus
The story begins in 2009 in Puerto Rico where guitarist John Feliciano, bassist Edgar Ramos and drummer JuanMa Font met through various band incarnations and break-ups. While a communal desire to meld together a sonic workshop of powerful and abrasive music layered with melodically seductive vocals fueled the project, it wasn’t until famed producer Leo Alvarez suggested the band check out veteran singer Jandre Nadal that a band was born.
