Adam Carolla won't commit to any statement that he will be replacing Howard Stern on some of The King Of All Media's West Coast outlets, but he keeps talking like the move is inevitable.
"It's hard to say when it will start," Carolla told the Los Angeles Times. "I'm not being evasive; I really have no idea. Right now, I hope it's later rather than sooner."
The comment was reported in a calendarlive.com profile of Carolla's burgeoning career that saw the launch of Too Late With Adam Carolla on Comedy Central earlier this month and has the debut of The Adam Carolla Project on TLC coming in October.
"I'm really just trying to hash out the next two weeks of my life," Carolla told the Times. "So, something that is potentially four months down the road is not just a mile down the road for me, it's a million miles down the road."
Carolla also told the Times he used to listen to Stern's program while working a construction job. "I had two thoughts about it," he said. "One was I could do that, and the next one was I'll never get to do that." Carolla later added, "It should be like a salmon taking to open water. I've done so much morning radio that I won't be overwhelmed by it, but it's still going to be a challenge."
