 Beastie Boys

In a new interview with the BBC, Adam "MCA" Yauch has revealed a few details about the Beastie Boys' upcoming studio album. MCA says the new record is tentatively titled Tadlock's Glasses, which is unsurprisingly a name inspired by an inside joke among the Boys."We had a bus driver years ago who used to drive Elvis' back up singers," he said. "His name was Tadlock and Elvis gave him a pair of glasses which he was very proud of. So for some reason that title - Tadlock's Glasses - has just been bouncing around."
As for the music, Yauch told the BBC, "It's a combination of playing and sampling stuff as we're playing, and also sampling pretty obscure records." The Boys are just about finished the record, which could be out this summer. "We're tweaking some mixes and we're going to master it in the next couple of weeks," he said, adding that "there are a lot of songs on the record and there are a lot of short songs and they kind of all run into each other."
The last Beasties release was the 2007 all-instrumental record The Mix-Up. The trio are expected to tour this summer. The Boys also just re-issued their landmark album Paul's Boutique in a deluxe remastered edition.
