Beasley's Rhythmic Top 40 WRDW (Wired 96.5) is making a change in mornings as Rocco the Janitor (Ben Maxwell) and producer Weezy (Alex Epstein) exit. Maxwell's "Janitor" character was a key component of the station's launch nearly two years ago.
The lack of ratings made the decision for change a lot easier as the show placed seventh morning drive in the station's key 18-34 demo according to the recent Spring Arbitron. As early as this morning a guy by the name of "Big Mama" and a cast of characters had taken control of a stolen mic in a bizzare journey that sure sounds like a morning show in the making.
"As far as mornings go," Wired PD Chuck Tisa told FMQB. "After the white Ford Bronco chase this morning looking for the stolen mic, we were on a "mic hunt", a guy who is calling himself Big Mama has been using the mic to broadcast out of his house."
Although Tisa has been tight lipped, word is a new show could be in place as early as Friday. Stay tuned!
