 Metallica
| Metallica has set a new release date for its digital "box set" that will feature the band's entire 163-song catalog. The Complete Metallica will now be available exclusively through iTunes starting April 14, before surfacing at all other digital outlets on April 28. Additionally, the band shot a video for the new single, "Broken, Beat and Scarred," and fans can stream it now on Metallica.com. And last but not least, guitarist Kirk Hammett reportedly told The Pulse of Radio that ex-bassist Jason Newsted will perform with the group at their Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction on April 4. "Jason Newsted will be there, and he will be playing with us at one point," Hammett said. "We went as a band when Black Sabbath was being inducted, and at that time Blondie was also being inducted that night. And there was so many politics and so much drama that we collectively said to each other, 'We don't want any of that,' because it puts a really bad, sour note on the whole celebration itself."The Dead have announced plans to circumvent scalpers and raise money for charity with their upcoming tour, by auctioning off the first five center rows for the band's Rex Foundation and other charities. "The first gig as the Grateful Dead was a benefit," guitarist Bob Weir told Billboard. "It always seemed to us that you get some, you give some back. It makes good sense. It's just something we've always done, and this latest round is, I think a well-conceived, somewhat newer version of it." The Dead will appear on The View this Monday, March 30 and then on the Late Show With David Letterman on April 23. With rumors of a Lollapalooza headlining slot out there, it appears that Tool will definitely return to the road in the summer of 2009. The band has already been announced as a headliner for the Mile High Festival in June in Denver. Tool confirmed on their Website earlier this week that there will be a summer tour announced soon. Tool spent a year and a half on the road in support of 2006's 10,000 Days.
Judas Priest has confirmed all the details and tour dates for the 30th Anniversary of their classic, breakthrough album, British Steel. The band will be performing the album in its entirety for the very first time, as well as some other old favorites. Whitesnake will be opening most of the shows. The tour kicks off on July 1 in St. Charles, MO and ends on August 11 at the famed Red Rocks Ampitheatre in Morrison, CO. Wilco have announced a tentative release and track listing for their upcoming studio record. The still-untitled album will be out in late June and the band confirmed a duet between Feist and frontman Jeff Tweedy on the song "You And I." Some of the other new songs include "Deeper Down," "One Wing," "Wilco (the song)" and "Bull Black Nova." Lenny Kravitz' debut record Let Love Rule will be reissued in a two-disc 20th anniversary edition, available April 21. The expanded version will include rare demos, b-sides and a previously unreleased live concert recorded in Boston in March of 1990 for WBCN.
